Bioloco's ecological mugs are made from the plant material PLA. PLA or polylactic acid is made from dextrose (sugar) extracted from plant-based materials. It is the most popular bioplastic or biopolymer and the only one currently produced in a world-scale factory.

The mugs do not contain melamine or BPA and have been produced in a climate-friendly way.
